CHOPPER CHICKS. S / T 12 "(Mis Cojones Underground MCU-001) 10.00 EUR .
If you wanted a disc more punk than your cousin, here it is. Mis Cojones Records Underground edit this small gem that retrieves a very prominent historical memory of female punk this country: CHOPPER CHICKS. Possibly as large as unknown.
case you do not know, "members" CHOPPER CHICKS are or have been part of many women's groups that have emerged in Madrid during the last decade: WEBELOS , Sweet Nothings, RHINO wrestlers, GRUPO SUB-1, LADIES ELECTRIC CHAIR or among others. These three beautiful women, Nuri, Poison and Racky, decided in 1998 to form the CHOPPER CHICKS , a group of amateur punk (forgive the redundancy), which give free rein to his fondness for groups like Mummies, LOLI AND THE Chon, TRASHWOMEN, NO TALENTS or Supercharger. Two years later, released on the label Three Cipotes a K7 called "Dirt In The Skirt" in a perfect and attentive ultra lo-fi sound, that is, fixed gear, without any production or additives that mask their sound. This cassette (its only audio document), plus some unpublished, are now light in the form of vinyl, and this way you repair a historical injustice. Enjoy it while you can!
** Limited edition of 270 copies . Disco not for purists

CRITICAS/REVIEWS:
From Maximum RocknRoll #333 February 2011 : A vinyl reissue of a cassette originally released in 2000 by these garage rockin’ women from Madrid, Spain. Wonderfully amateur, rough and gritty music with such piercingly screechy vocals. The singing alone will probably turn off the squares (too bad, losers!). Plus lo-fi trashy production with an emphasis on fun. They probably recorded all nineteen songs in one day and I am glad they did. CHOPPER CHICKS unabashedly take inspiration from the garage punk scene of the ‘90s and go with it. Covers of LOLI & THE CHONES, NO TALENS, SPASTICS, RIP-OFFS, ULAN BATOR, PLASTIC BERTRAND and the CONTOURS if that gives you a hint of what these gals are all about. The result is really cool. (CK)
From Terminal Boredom E-Zine Winter 2010 : Holy cow, remember Rip Off Records webmistress and "art dept." employee Poison Bambee? Well I do at least, and I'm sure Greg does. Her past outfit Los Webelos was a tolerable Cramps-like garage-mash but she gets a bit more punk here. The Chopper Chicks are Bambee (moonlighting as Bimbo Oklahoma) with two other English babes (Racky Kentucky - who looks a lot like Angela from Jersey Shore - and Muri Alabama) doing minute-and-a-half 1234 shit-fi garage-punk trash. Covers abound, from the expected sources: Loli & The Chones, Plastic Bertrand, No-Talents, Spastics, Runaways, Supercharger, "Do You Love Me?"...they pack in twenty cuts on two sides at 45 rpms here, for the maximum in low fidelity. It's a pretty cartoon-like affair overall - matching outfits, grrl power, chainsaw chicks in Hot Topic outfits. Sloppy, incompetent, screechy, the covers are the most fun, if just to see how bad they butcher them. It is what it is, "110% lo-fi" garage-punk from Europe, and it at least reminded me of the glory days of the Rip Off empire...even if I never want to hear another cover of "Zodiac" for the rest of my life. I do enjoy the fact that these girls are still keeping the faith.(RK)

LEE VAN CLEEF. Virgen Por Delante, Martir Por Detrás 7" (Blondes Must Die Records BMDR-012) 5 EUR .
All of us should be grateful (or not) to the city of El Ferrol for providing such important characters to the world and diverse as the little dictator, Pablo Iglesias, María Concepción Arenal or Patiño. His last contribution to improving the planet are the Lee Van Cleef, a quartet more essential to the welfare of humanity than the above.
Take a break from just over 5 minutes in your busy life and give a listen to these Galician in this their debut single where they pay homage to bands like THE BOYS , or his fellow Avengers TOTAL LOSS. Although it goes without any explanation on a Galician group when it gets down to work, to say that this disc you'll find four issues where there are four hand punk attitude, bright melodies and fun lyrics. Could not ask for more!
Buy or bursts, the punk had a price and that is to this single.

We all Should be thankful (or maybe not) to the city of El Ferrol for giving to the world such transcendental and heterogeneous people as the little cheeky dictator, Pablo Iglesias, Concepcion Arenal or María Patiño. Its last contribution to improve the planet are LEE VAN CLEEF , a quartet more important to the world's welfare than all above mentioned people.
Take a five minute break in your busy existence and give a spin to the brand debut 7" of these Galician guys, where they pay homage to THE BOYS, THE AVENGERS or their Galician fellows, SINIESTRO TOTAL . Even though any explanation about a Galician band getting to it is a waste of time, I'd like to add that in this record, you're going to find four tracks (4) where punk attitude, brilliant melodies and funny lyrics find a common place. What else can you ask for?
Buy this record or burst out, punk had a price and that is this single's price.

CRITICAL / REVIEWS: From
Maximum RocknRoll # 333 February 2011 : This is Some fast and out-of-control pop-punk English. Real fun stuff. RAMONES It's Somewhere Between, AVENGERS and the BANANAS. Simple three-chord songs with fuzzed-out guitars and lots of good hooks. This rules, and it’s limited to 199 copies so act fast. (FS)
From Terminal Boredom E-Zine Winter 2010 : Yeah, the band name, I know...they're English, give 'em a break. Four tracks of espanol pop-punk rife with Chuck Taylors, Queers and Ramones rips, sunglasses and ripped jeans. I have no idea what they're singing about, but it doesn't help any. There's not much to say about this other than it's not good. Limited to 150 copies though! (RK)
